ALİYE BERGER

As the first female engraving artist and painter, Berger began to survive a difficult period of her life, making her the first woman engraver in Türkiye. She opened his first exhibition in 1951. She won first place in an international painting competition in 1954 with his oil painting "Rise of the Sun".

Prof. Dr. AYŞE AFET İNAN

At the age of 14, Inan was appointed chief teacher at the Elmalı All Girls' School and contributed to the new Türkiye with her studies in history and anthropology. At the request of Atatürk, she wrote the book Vatandaş İçin Medeni Bilgiler (Civilian Information for Citizens). In 1950, she became the first woman to become a professor of history.

BEDİA (ŞEKİP) MUVAHHİT

Muvahhit, who was offered a role by Muhsin Ertuğrul in the movie Ateşten Gömlek, became one of the first female film actresses. On August 11, 1923, when Dârülbedayi's artists asked why Atatürk was not included in his play on the Izmir tour, Bedia Muvahhit was prepared for the play called Penal Code in one day, thus becoming the first Muslim woman who took the stage in the Republic of Türkiye.

After graduating from the University of Istanbul's Department of Physics, Özdoğan conducted research at the Sorbonne University's optical laboratory in 1952. She continued her studies at the University of Istanbul and became a pioneer in the establishment of the modern education system.

CAHİDE SONKU

Noted by Muhsin Ertuğrul in the City Theatres, Sonku starred in Türkiye's first village film. Thus, she became Turkey's first female star. When the director of the movie "Fedakar Ana" in which,she played sick, she went behind the camera to complete the movie. She became the first female director in the history of Turkish cinema history.

FATMA HİKMET İŞMEN

Workmen, who studied at the Ankara Higher Education Institute, became Türkiye's first female agricultural engineer after graduating. Between 1956 and 1958, she completed his PhD in Canada, where she worked as Chief of the Plant Virology Laboratory Manager, and her discovery of a new variation of the fungus became known in the literature.

When she marrief Kılıç Ali, one of the Atatürk’s comrades-in arms, Koral organized dinner parties for Atatürk and other politicians, artists, and literary figures. In 1947, she went to Switzerland to receive treatment for tuberculosis. She started to work with ceramic to keep her occupied there but soon realized that this was her mission in life. With her exhibition in Istanbul in 1951, she became Türkiye's first female ceramic artist.

Gökdoğan, who graduated from Erenköy All Girls' High School and was sent abroad for mathematics-physics education with a state scholarship, was the first Turkish to be appointed as associate professor at the Institute of Astronomy at the Faculty of Science at the University of Istanbul in 1934. In 1954, she was elected dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Istanbul, becoming the first female dean in Türkiye.

Hisar was one of three female student who enrolled in the department of chemistry in Darülfünun, went to Paris in late 1923 to study chemistry. In 1933, she became the first Turkish woman to receive a doctorate from the University of the Sorbonne. In 1955, Türkiye's first female chemist, Hisar, was the first Turkish woman to be awarded an Officiel d'Academie by the Government of France.

SABİHA (RIFAT) GÜRAYMAN

Graduating as one of two college students at the Engineering School, Gürayman became the first female athlete on the Fenerbahçe Men's Volleyball Team in 1928. When she won the Fenerbahçe Men's Volleyball Team in 1929, Sabiha was the team's captain. Between 1945 and 1953, she was appointed as the Supervising Engineer of Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s Mausoleum) and that was the most important mission of her life.

Ağaoğlu applied to the Department of Law in Istanbul University. However women were not allowed to study law in those years so her application was rejected. Ağaoğlu rejected this decision and convincing 3 of her girlfriends to study law, she made the management change their decision. In 1928, she obtained a freelance license, becoming the first woman lawyer in Türkiye.
