Açık Holding’s Special Exhibition for the 100th Anniversary of the Republic: "Cumhuriyet’in Öncü Kadınları"

Açık Holding celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Republic with the "Cumhuriyet’in Öncü Kadınları" exhibition, which brings together the success stories of pioneering women who followed in Atatürk’s footsteps. Having grown rapidly in the last quarter of the Republic’s century-long journey and continuing its international investments, Açık Holding highlights the invaluable legacy of the Republic through this special event.

Şehrinaz Kartal, Vice President of Marketing at Açık Holding, expressed her excitement about presenting the "Cumhuriyet’in Öncü Kadınları" exhibition to the public in honor of the Republic’s 100th anniversary. She stated, "Through this exhibition, we aim to highlight the achievements of women who followed in Atatürk’s footsteps and became cornerstones of our progress with their work and legacy, while also emphasizing the immortality of our Republic." Kartal also noted that this exhibition is just the first step, and that in the second century, they will continue to preserve this legacy by showcasing new and evolving success stories every year.

Curator Özlem Özdemir shared that this exhibition had been a long-time dream of hers, saying, "I am delighted to bring this dream to life together with Açık Holding. I want to emphasize that this is not just a photo exhibition; it is a historical exhibition that showcases Atatürk’s perspective on women and explains the process by which Turkish women gained their rights. Additionally, the exhibition includes biographies of 20 pioneering women and another section that highlights the stories of 100 women who have paved the way from the past to the present. In short, this exhibition tells a fascinating story with real examples of the journey toward women's liberation since the founding of the Republic."

The "Cumhuriyet’in Öncü Kadınları" exhibition will open on Friday, October 27, at Artopol Art Gallery in Maslak 42 and will be free to visit until November 2, 2023. Additionally, starting from October 29, it will be available in two languages on digital platforms.
